Pricing

I sell handmade soaps at $9 retail. Boutiques ask for wholesale at half that, which leaves me with a thin margin after materials and labor. Is 50% an industry standard and how can I make wholesale profitable without cheapening my brand?

I run a small business that cleans and restores commercial kitchen equipment, charging about $450 per visit. In 40 quotes, only one person asked for a lower price. Everyone just says yes. Is zero resistance a real sign to charge more, and how much should I test increasing at once?

I do bookkeeping cleanups for small firms and bill $75 an hour. Faster work means I earn less, which feels backwards. I want to quote fixed project prices but I am afraid of scope creep and underquoting. How did you estimate your first fixed-price jobs?

Our tool is used by teams of 3 to 25 people. Per-seat pricing penalizes growth in the customers we want, but a flat fee means big teams get a bargain. We tried tiers by team size and it confused buyers. What structure kept things simple and fair for you?

We have not changed our $49 monthly plan in three years and costs have risen sharply. About 600 customers pay it, many since the start. I am thinking of moving to $65. Is it better to grandfather everyone, give notice and a deadline, or raise only for new signups?

A former coworker asked me to build a simple inventory spreadsheet for his shop. I know it is worth around $400, but asking feels awkward and I almost offered it free. How did you get comfortable asking for money the first time?

A mid-size logistics company offered to try my route-checking software for 60 days. They suggested no cost since it is unproven. I worry free pilots get ignored and teach buyers that my product is worthless. Would a small paid pilot kill the opportunity, or would it show they are serious?

Almost every deal I close ends with the buyer asking for a discount and me agreeing to avoid losing it. My average contract is $9,500 and I suspect I am leaving a lot on the table. How do you hold the line without losing buyers who really are on tight budgets?

I run a small design studio on monthly retainers of $4,000. Several clients treat the retainer as unlimited requests, and I spend more hours than I bill. How do you set boundaries without making clients feel nickel-and-dimed?

Our product helps property managers track maintenance requests. Sales cycles are short but support is done by me alone. A freemium tier worries me because of support load, yet a 14-day trial feels too short for teams that only log requests monthly. Which model has worked for a tool with infrequent usage?
