Getting started

What is NestEggo?
A B2B community where business owners, founders and professionals share what worked. Whether you're a solo founder, a small business owner or an executive at a larger company, you'll find what people like you actually did to solve real business problems. Each problem is a chat; each answer is an experience.

Who can join?
Anyone 18 or older who works in or runs a business, from a pre-revenue startup to an enterprise. You sign up with your work email and the name and website of your brand (your company, or your own business if you're solo).

Why do I need a brand to post?
Every member belongs to at least one brand, so readers know the context behind an experience. Solo founders and freelancers can add their own business.

Why was I asked for a job title?
Your job title appears next to your name on what you share. You have one per brand (say, CEO at your company and advisor at another), and we ask for it the first time you post as each brand. Change it in Profile settings; experiences you already posted keep the title they were posted with.

Can I read without an account?
Yes. Anyone can read chats and their experiences. You need an account to post, reply, vote, flag, join chats or cafes, or suggest a chat.

I signed up with a personal email (like Gmail). What happens?
Personal and unusual sign-ups are reviewed by our team before the account becomes active. Disposable email addresses aren't accepted. Using your work email is the fastest way in.

I didn't get my confirmation email.
Check your spam folder, then use "Resend" on the sign-in page. Confirmation links expire, so use the newest one. Unconfirmed accounts are deleted after 7 days; you can sign up again after that.

Chats and cafes

What's the difference between a chat and a cafe?
A chat is one specific problem, written as a question ("How did you price your first B2B contract?"). A cafe is a topic, like Pricing, Hiring or Ecommerce. A chat can belong to several cafes.

What does "Join" do?
Joining a chat or cafe follows it, so you see its activity in your feeds. You can leave at any time.

What are Trending, New and Top?
Trending blends recent votes and new experiences. New shows the newest chats. Top shows the most-voted chats for the past week, month or all time. Our team may also feature a few chats at the top of the home page.

Experiences and replies

What's an experience?
Your firsthand answer to a chat: what you used or did, what happened and what you'd change. See the Community rules.

Can I reply to an experience?
Yes. Replies sit one level under an experience; you can't reply to a reply. To start a new thread, share your own experience.

Can I edit or delete what I posted?
Yes, at any time. Readers see the latest version. We keep earlier versions and deleted posts privately so our moderators can review reports. If you delete an experience that has replies, the replies stay and the experience shows as "[removed]".

Why can't I post a link?
Links in chats, experiences and replies appear as plain text, never as clickable links. That removes the incentive for spam and keeps the focus on what you did. Affiliate links and referral codes are blocked outright.

Is there a limit on how much I can post?
New accounts can share up to 3 experiences and suggest 1 chat per day during their first 7 days. This slows down spam; the limit lifts automatically.

Why some chats' experiences are hidden

Why can't I see the experiences on a chat?
A chat shows its experiences once five members have shared (an admin setting). Until then, you'll see "X of 5 experiences collected — be one of the first". This keeps early answers from being shaped by the first one, and gives readers a range of views.

Does my experience count right away?
Yes. It counts toward the total as soon as it's posted, and you can always see your own experience.

Votes

How does voting work?
Logged-in members can vote chats and experiences up or down. You can change or remove your vote.

Can I vote on my own posts?
No. Votes come only from other members. Paid Brand promo content can't be voted on.

Levels

What are levels?
Your level shows how many experiences you've shared. It appears next to your name.

LevelExperiences shared

Removed posts and paid placements don't count. We may adjust the thresholds over time.

Flagging and moderation

How do I report something?
Use Flag on the chat, experience or reply, and choose a reason: spam, self-promotion, affiliate link, abusive, off-topic or other. Flags are private; the author doesn't see who flagged.

What happens after I flag?
Our moderators review flagged content and either keep it or remove it, and may warn or suspend the author. Content flagged by three different members (an admin setting) is hidden automatically until a moderator reviews it. You'll see the outcome of your report.

Something of mine was removed. Can I appeal?
Yes. Contact us with the topic "Report a problem" and a link to the chat. A person, not an automated system, reviews appeals.

Suggesting chats and cafes

How do I suggest a chat?
Type your problem into the chat box on the home page, or go to Suggest in your dashboard. A chat is one question about one problem; please search first so we don't get duplicates.

What happens after I suggest a chat?
An automated reviewer (an AI model) checks it for spam, promotion, duplicates and off-topic content. If it passes, the chat is published right away and placed in matching cafes. If not, you'll see "being reviewed" and a moderator decides. You can track your suggestions in your dashboard. Your name isn't shown on chats you suggest.

Can I create a cafe?
Cafes are created by our team, but you can suggest one from the Cafes page or your dashboard.

Brands, teams and roles

Who's on my brand?
When you sign up, you either create your brand (and become its brand admin) or, if a brand with your email domain already exists, ask to join it. A brand admin approves or declines join requests on the Brand page of their dashboard.

What can each role do?

RoleWhat they can do
Brand adminEverything below, plus the team, billing, tokens and brand settings
Ad managerCreate and manage the brand's ads, spend its tokens, see analytics
Content editorPost brand responses and edit the brand profile

A brand can have several brand admins, and it always has at least one.

I belong to more than one brand.
Use the brand switcher in the header to choose which brand you're acting for. In the composer, pick which brand you're "posting as".

Posting as a brand

Does my brand appear on what I share?
Yes. Your experiences show your first name, job title, level and the brand you're posting as. They're still your experiences, written in your own words.

Can I mention my own brand?
Not to promote it. Experiences that mention a brand you belong to are reviewed by a moderator and may be removed. If you want your product seen on a chat, use a labeled paid placement. If someone else mentions your brand, a team member can post a labeled "Response from {Brand}".

Your account status

StatusWhat it means
ActiveFull access.
Pending reviewOur team is reviewing your sign-up (common with personal email addresses). You can't post until it's approved.
DisapprovedYour sign-up wasn't approved. Contact us if you think that's a mistake.
SuspendedYou can't post for a period (usually 7 days) after a rules violation.
BannedYou can't sign in, and your content is hidden.

If your account isn't active, signing in takes you to a page that explains why.

Tokens and Brand promo

How do brands advertise?
Brands buy tokens and use them for Brand promo: in a chat where someone outside the brand mentions it, the brand's name becomes a highlighted button that opens a labeled, paid offer. Experiences themselves are never paid. Brand promo is reviewed before it runs and is always labeled as paid.

Who pays?
Tokens, payments and ads belong to a brand, not to a person. Brand admins buy tokens; ad managers spend them.

Is it available now?
NestEggo is in beta, and Brand promo is rolling out during the beta. See For brands for how it works.

Account and privacy

How do I switch brands? Use the brand switcher next to your avatar in the header.

How do I delete my account? Account settings › Delete account. See our Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
